Using the bits in a ratcheting wrench gives the user a tool that has a narrower profile than when using a standard ratchet with a bit socket allowing access to confined spaces. Bits can also be inserted in a socket allowing them to be used with a ratchet like regular bit sockets. The bits have a ball detent that securely holds the bits in the wrench or socket.
